Assessments
We are certified to administer a suite of assessments which can be used in conjunction with our simulations.
Emotional Intelligence (EI) refers to the capacity for recognizing our own feelings and those of others, and for regulating those emotions. Research shows that high EI is a significant factor in leadership success, and that it can be learned. How leaders process emotions has a direct impact on self-perception and how they express themselves to others. It also impacts relationships, the decisions that are made, and how well leaders are able to tolerate stress. Being emotionally intelligent is about using emotions in the most effective way in day-to-day interactions and the work that we are engaged in. It requires leaders to build self-awareness and understand biases.
Viewpoint Leadership uses the EQ-i 2.0 Model of Emotional Intelligence which is based on the extensive research of psychologist Dr. Reuven Bar-On. Using this model, there are 5 composite scales and 15 subscales that are considered to be the competencies relevant to emotional intelligence. We are certified by Multi-Health Systems to administer the EQ-i 2.0, EQ 360 & EQ-i 2.0 Higher Education, and provide each participant with a personalized report that includes an in-depth assessment of each subscale, implications of the results and strategies for development.
Using solution-focused coaching, we provide a debrief of the results and work with you to create a personalized development plan that is aligned with the areas that you want to leverage and develop and what it is that you want to achieve.

The Change Style Indicator® measures an individual’s preferred style in approaching and addressing change. The instrument addresses both initiated and opposed change and places the respondent on a continuum between 5 Conserver (prefers the known to the unknown), Pragmatist (prefers to explore the current situation in an objective manner), and Originator (prefers a faster and more radical approach to change). It provides leaders of all levels with insights on personal preferences for managing through change and provides context for how those around them might perceive and respond to their preferred style.
With Change Style Indicator® leaders will:
- Learn about three unique styles for dealing with change
- Discover their personal position on this continuum of change style preferences
- Learn how a preferred style affects how others perceive an individual and how a style influences the perception of others
- Determine the “traps” in their style that can limit a leader’s flexibility and ability to lead
- Explore the advantages and strengths that each style offers in a team effort
- Improve interpersonal communication and understanding
- Avoid conflicts and reduce unproductive meeting time
- Realize the value of all perspectives when resolving issues
- Improve teamwork
- Enable the group’s creativity and innovation
- Increase collaboration and cooperation
- Reach the “win/win” solution more quickly
This assessment addresses both initiated and opposed change and places the respondent on a continuum between Conserver, Pragmatist and Originator. The preferences and behaviors associated with 11 scoring segments along this continuum are described in detail in a personalized report when the assessment is administered online.
The legacy that a leader creates for themselves is built on their values and personal leadership brand. This session will focus on leading self and examine strengths-based and values-driven leadership. Participants will examine relationship theory, and with relationships, everyone speaks a slightly different “motivational language.” The TotalSDI assessment tool will aid participants in understanding their language and the languages other people speak – as well as how those languages change during conflict – so that leaders can more effectively work with people. This encourages differences to fade, and empathy to grow. This drives stronger performance among teams and better results.
The Hardiness Resilience Gauge™ (HRG) provides insight into an individual’s level of hardiness and their ability to cope with stressful and often times unexpected situations. The HRG focuses on the three C’s – Control, Commitment, and Challenge. The three C’s of Hardiness represent the key qualities that people high in hardiness possess. They believe they have control over the events they experience. They commit to seeing the world as meaningful and interesting, and they view challenges and change as growth opportunities that they can learn from.
